In a game of ups and downs… The Bristol Knights opened the 2010 Spring/Summer Season with a victory over the Tri-County Twins, 10-7. Some big highlights of the game were the 2 homeruns… the first, a 2 run homer by Kevin Gokey in the bottom of the 1st, and the second… a solo shot to put us up to stay in the bottom of the 5th by Lucas Nickerson. Congrats fellas. Kyle Faust got the season opening start on the mound and pitched 4 innings (3 very strong ones with only one tough inning). Chris Taylor came in in relief of Faust, and after getting 2 quick outs… the team struggled to get the last out  allowing 3 runs due to a combination of walks, hits, and errors… Chris then settled down in his 2nd relief inning to shut the door on the Twins, and seal the victory. The legal game was called after the top of the 6th with the home team (the Knights) leading, and thus getting the win. Other players with solid offensive performances were Chris Dickens, Paul Franceschi, and Kevin Gokey who all had multi-hit games.

The next game is Monday at Legends Field in Newington vs the expansion team, Elmer’s.
