The Bristol Knights regular season is now over. The Knights finished the regular season on a hot streak. Over this time we won 10 of 11 games, including 10 wins in a row from Jun 21 – Jul 30. In this streak, we had some impressive wins. Some of these were a 14-5 win over East Division leader, Willimantic… a 7-0 win over the Newington Indians (with only 8 guys for half the game)… and a 15-2 win over Coventry.

The only hiccup was our last game of the season vs Tri-County Twins from this past Friday 7/30. For this game, 13 players of our regular roster were unavailable. So we decided to make it a Knights reunion or alumni game, and get some fomer players to come out and play with the remaining regulars. So we asked a bunch of our old players on our emergency call up roster list to show. It was a fun time, having some of the old players around. Unfortunately, the result was not a good one. Tri-County came in swinging very hot bats and beat us 15-1. Our missing players included most of our better hitters, and most of our pitching staff. The only regular pitcher we had available was Kyle Faust who tried to throw a little on short rest, but by that time, the Twins were finding hits and runs pretty much non-stop. Not the ideal way to end the season, but at least we gave it a shot and avoided the forfeit.
