In a very tough game on Thursday night, the Bristol Knights lost to the Willimantic Ridges, 5-2.  Dan Livingston of the Ridges pitched a great game for Willimantic, keeping the Knights off balance all night. There were a few offensive highlights though. Rex Cone tied the game at 1 with a solo homerun that hit a light pole in right field early in the game. Bristol actually took a 2-1 lead before allowing the next 4 to Willimantic. The Knights had some spectacular defense on Thursday night. One tremendous play was by Lucas Nickerson at 3B, where he dove to his left and caught a very hard 1 bouncer, then proceeded to throw a bullet to first base from his knees to get the runner. This was possibly the best defensive play of the year.  In the end, we didn’t have enough guys hit well, and made a couple defensive mistakes that ended up being costly. So on to the elimination bracket finale…
