The rain held off on Friday, for a nice change from the rest of the week. The Knights lit up the Tri-County Twins pitching with a 17 hit attack, and 14 runs. Justin Kilker, Eddie Dickman, Rex Cone, Ernie Meza, Scott Dickens, and Earl Oakes all had multi-hit games (While Earl drove in 3). Kyle Olovson got his first hit as a Knight, a 2 RBI Triple, and Ernie Meza and Scott Dickens never made an out. Even with all that offense the story of the game was the pitching of Mitch Hummer. The long time emergency call up player of the Knights hadn’t pitched a game in about a year, and he proceeded to shut out the Twins, pitching 6 shutout innings with 5 Strikeouts, and no walks, while only giving up 4 hits.
This week, we have 4 games…
2 Games at the Muzzy Double Header on Monday (8/1) vs Glastonbury and Willimantic.
1 Game Wednesday (8/3) vs Glastonbury (likely at Riverfront Park)… to be confirmed ASAP, but plan on playing this night.
1 Game Friday (8/5) to close out the season vs East Hartford at home at BEHS.
Next week start out playoffs, and the odds are we will likely be playing one of the games on Monday, but that is still not confirmed.
