Earl Oakes took the mound on Monday, for only his 2nd start of the season. Earl was never really comfortable, but stayed the course and ended up throwing a fantastic 6 strong innings. In 6 innings, Earl allowed 2 runs, both earned, while striking out 4… and against a very talented Indians team, full of very good veterean players. Rex Cone closed out the win on the mound for the save. The offense was led by Rick Barrett and Julio Ortiz-Rivera with 2 hits and 1 run scored each. Sean Shanley also had a huge go ahead RBI hit in the top of the 7th and a Sac Fly earlier in the game to give him 2 of our 3 RBI. Justin Kilker got the other RBI with a single in his first at bat.
Next: The Knights take on the Glastonbury Pirates, 8pm Tonight (WED) at Rotary Field in South Windsor.
They are the defending champs and a good team. Should be a good game. See you there
