Lately, the Bristol Knights have picked up a bunch of addional honors following our 2015 Connecticut Twilight League Championship.  For the past few years, the league has held some post-season voting for the players and coaches to have a chance to recognize those individuals who had such great seasons. This year the league decided to also pick an All CTL Team as a way to recognize the best players in the league, as picked by all the managers and league officials.

In the player voting for the recent Connecticut Twilight League Players awards, some of the Bristol Knights came out winning a few awards. The big winner of the day was, Matt Niedzwiecki who was voted the leagues 2015 “Cy Young Winner”, the “Playoffs MVP”, the “Rookie of the Year”, and Matt’s Playoff Complete Game shutout, 15 strikieout, 2 hitter over the E.Hartford Angels was voted “the Performance of the Year”. The Knights’ 1-0 playoff win over top seed Glastonbury Pirates in the elimination bracket final, where Matt Niedzwiecki outdueled Matt Spence (Niedzwiecki: 1 Hit allowed, 0 runs, 12 K’s) was voted as the leagues “Game of the Year”. Rick Barrett was also voted one of the leagues :Gold Gloves”. Steve Clout won best “Play of the Year” with his throw out of the E.Hartford runner at the plate in the bottom of the 6th inning of our last regular season game (this play also preserved our tie in the game and preserved our division title and playoff 1st round bye). For the ALL CTL Team , the Knights had 3 people voted on to the team by all the managers/officials that run the league. Chris McGrath and Matt Niedzwiecki both were voted in as pitchers, while Rick Barrett was voted onto the team as an infielder. Eddie Dickman was nominated by multiple managers but just missed making the team.
