Today’s game vs Elmer’s at Alumni Field (Newington High School) has been postponed due to poor field conditions and the potential threat of more rain. The game will be made up on Thursday 6/20 at the same field.
Last week, the Knights played 3 games. On Wednesday, 5/29 the Knights played and defeated the CS&D Twins… and played but didn’t finish against the East Hartford Angels (that game will either be replayed or continued at a future date TBD). In the first game on Wednesday, the Knights pitched Rick Blais who went the first 5 inning for the win, while striking out 3. Earl Oakes closed out the game for the save going the final 2 innings, while striking out 6 of the 8 batters he faced. The offense was led in game 1 by Julio Ortiz-Rivera who had a triple, single, and 2 runs, Brian LaRochelle who added a walk, rbi single, and a run. In the second game versus the East Hartford Angels, the Knights pitched Lucas Nickerson who threw 3.2 Innings, while allowing 5 earned runs. Lucas gave them a few too many walks while they were hitting the ball pretty well. The offense was led by Rex Cone and Earl Oakes, each with two hits, while Rex’s included a double and run scored. The second game was rained out to start the 5th… and no pitches were thrown in that inning. By book rule, the game should be replayed in its entirety. Scot has agreed that with the schedule constraints, this might be tough later because we have the same field dates for games, thus always playing at the same time, so we may continue this game at a date TBD before an away game vs East Hartford at their field with lights… McKenna Field in East Hartford. Stay tuned for more on that.

He struck out 4, while only allowing 6 hits, 1 walk, and 1 hit batsmen. The offense was led by Walter Klimczak and Shawn Ferguson with 2 hits each. Earl Oakes also added a double and RBI.
