Our league has set up a 9 inning scrimmage game with the brand new independent minor league team… the New Britain Bees of the Atlantic League.

This event is free and open to the public… all families and friends welcome.

This is part of the preseason/spring training for the new independent league team… and for our league as well.
The Bee’s start their season on 4/21 and we start play in the CTL on 5/9.
Gates open for players at 5pm and an onfield Batting practice should start around 5:15.
Initially, the plan is for their pitchers to face our batters, but at some point we may have the Bee’s pitchers pitch to the Bee’s batters and same for our league.

The Connecticut Twilight League will send players from all 10 teams to take on the New Britain Bees.
League President and Brickhouse Indians manager Chris Barsa set up this game, so he’s bringing his whole team to come and start the game, and then after a few innings all the players from other teams will be subbed in.

The Bees have actually signed some local talent including Bristol Eastern player Kevin Rivers and former Willimantic Ridges and ECSU standout pitcher Shawn Gilblair.

The CTL defending champion Bristol Knights will have the second most players in attendance.
Scott Dickens (GM, coach) will be helping Chris Barsa run things and manage but not play.
The Bristol Knights players in the game will be:
Bristol Knights Manager/2B, Brian LaRochelle
Coach/SS Rick Barrett
Coach/P/IF Earl Oakes
Pitcher Chris McGrath
C/1B Eddie Dickman.

Should be fun… hopefully we play well enough to stay in the game. All pitchers will probably only pitch 1 inning, so lots of guys will get shot in the 9 inning game.
We will have a lot of guys there… but its all for fun.
