On Monday, 5/17 the Knights travelled to Legend’s Field in Newington to face the expansion team, Elmer’s. We won 3-1 in a tight game, that we felt mostly in control of.  Rex Cone pitched 7 strong innings (mostly short innings), striking out a lot of the Elmer’s batters. Rex also drove in the 3rd run, scoring Eddie on a diving slide into home plate. Eddie Dickman had 2 RBI doubles, each time driving in Chris Dickens all the way from first base. A pretty solid game all around. The only negative… our baserunning needs work.

Next game is Friday May 21st (tomorrow) at Bristol Eastern H.S. JV vs the other new expansion team, East Windsor. Be sure Scott knows if you are coming or not. I do know we will be missing a bunch of guys again…Chris Dickens, Kevin Gokey, Dan Beecher, Tony Jones, Andrew Irvine, Erik Michael, Rick Barrett, and possibly Joey Strahowski. We may need to bring a call up emergency guy again.
