Bristol Knights among the leaders of the Connecticut Twilight League after First Month of play

The Bristol Knights (7W – 2L) have continued the winning ways that led to the teams back to back Connecticut Twilight League championships the past two seasons. One month into the season and a third of the way through the regular season schedule, the team has surged to a first place back and forth game with the Chicago Sam’s Orioles in the Central division and the league overall by winning its last 7 games. After starting the year 0-2, the Bristol bats have finally come alive to back up the consistently solid pitching and defense. Last Wednesday, following the state tournament win for Bristol Eastern, the Bristo Knightsl played their first games of the year at Muzzy Field, and knocking off division rivals East Hartford Angels and the Chicago Sam’s Orioles. Then within 24 hours, the Knights took the field again at Dodd Stadium in Norwich (home of the “A” CT Tigers, & Hartford Yardgoats), and defeated another central division rival, Elmer’s Silver Bullets. Early batting leaders for the team are Tyler Favreau at .556, and Eddie Dickman and Rex Cone both at .455. The Knights pitchers are led by Marco Ross with 2 Wins and a 0.00 ERA with 10 strikeouts in 12 1/3 innings, while Chris McGrath is 1-1 with a 1.75ERA with 15 strikeouts in 12 innings pitched.
